Baby dress TAKE 2

SOOO I couldn't help myself and I tried again.  I made another charm pack dress for Em.  This time I didn't even have to find my seam-ripper.  MUCH BETTER.  I slowed down and paid attention to what I was doing and it was a piece of cake.  I am thinking of leaving this t-shirt top plain--no ruffles or anything just for a casual dress.  What do you think???  Does it need a little something???  BTW...I used the tutorial from Sew Inspired.  She has some great stuff on her blog.  If you can follow ANY sort of directions and know how to sew AT ALL, you can make this little dress.  She has the directions for 6-9 months, 12 months and 2T, but I am sure you could modify it to ANY size, just depending on how many charm squares you use.  Just a thought. I didn't follow all of the instructions and skipped a few steps--because I am not a perfectionist---and it still worked great!!!
I loved the fabric when I picked it out, but then when they all went together---a little much.  I top-stitched with the teal thread instead of just white like on the first dress and I think it tied the fabrics together a little bit.  I guess it is spring:)
The fabric in this dress was Hunky Dory by Chez Moi for Moda and the fabric for the yellow dress was Eden by Lila Tueller for Moda.
Now it officially feels like Spring at our house.  It is amazing what a little bit of baby dress goodness can do for my mood---No more Winter blues:)

That was a lot of work with all of the pieceing on the skirt, way to go, it turned out really cute!

I think it looks really cute just like it is--I wouldn't add a thing! (And by "I" I mean "you", because I wouldn't have the chance to add a thing since I wouldn't be able to sew the dress in the first place.) Great work as always!

I think they're both just darling. I even called my sister Nichole to have her take a look so she could make one for her little girl. Super, super cute!
